Q1.
Overview

Game Gate VU is licensed to operate through our partner iGames, Inc who act as an intermediary between video game publisher's and operators of equipment in a pay-to-play environment. Purchase of a Game Gate unit includes membership and activation of the equipment. After initial activation, the equipment will be licensed for 6 months, after which you will need to purchase additional license time.

Q2.
Why do I need to register/license my machine?

Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 video games come with end user licensing agreements which generally state that the game is only allowed for personal, non-commercial use. This means that if you have a machine in a public venue playing Xbox360 or Playstation 3 games - even if you are not charging for use - you could be fined or face legal action from the publisher. With the Game Gate, certain games are licensed for use meaning that the publisher allows you to place the game in a public venue and charge users - so you won't need to worry about being fined or breaking the law.

Q3.
What publisher's titles are currently supported?

Not all games are licensed for use with the system. Publishers with titles licensed for use on the Game Gate include Microsoft, Ubisoft, and Electronic Arts, with most games released by these publishers licensed for use. For a full rundown of games available, please refer to our Games List.

Q4.
How will I know when new games are available for use with the system?

We will update our Games section of our website frequently with new game titles available for use on the system.

Q5.
How will I know when to renew the license for my machine?

The initial activation of the machine will grant you 6 months license for use. After 5 months you will be notified via email and by mail that you need to renew your equipment shortly. Failure to renew the license will result in equipment shut down.

Q6.
What are the license fees?

The current license fees are $8 USD per month, which is billed in 6 month periods or $48 USD per unit (dates are tracked as day credits - 182 day credits per 6 month activation).

Q7.
How do I pay the license fees?

License fees will be paid directly to our partner iGames through the terms listed on their invoice to you.

Q8.
Can I activate/renew several machines at once?

Yes. Refer to the Licensing section for more information.

Q9.
How do I navigate the USB interface menu during the license activation/renewal process?

To navigate the USB interface menu press the "One Player Game" button to scroll, and the "Reset" button to select an option.

Q10.
What are "Day Credits"?

Each Game Gate machine comes with 6 months of license use. The credit is counted in Days rather than months, with 182 "Day Credits" applied. The purpose of the Day Credit system is if you have multiple units that were activated at separate times the renewal dates will synchronize, allowing you to renew multiple licenses at once.
